Diesel grew up in a fairly homophobic town in Christophen, which isn't helped by the generally unwelcoming trucker culture he quickly found himself a part of. He couldn't afford an education beyond high school and thus got a trucker's license, but the ability to travel constantly made it worthwhile for him. This is how he spends most of his life, largely single save for short, dissatisfied relationships sparked at gay bars that quickly fizzled out once his partners realized he couldn't stay in one place for long.
At one of these bars, Diesel meets a young butch lesbian named Octane who had just run away from his Christofascist father. Alone and with nowhere to go, Octane was looking for hookups in turn for a place to stay.
"I know some old bear offerin' to take you away in a giant moving truck is a bit shady. But yer welcome to stay with me as long as yer okay leavin' this place behind." Diesel offered Octane a home in his truck, as long as the arrangement can be kept a secret from his boss.
"Shady?" Octane huffed. "It's the first good news I've heard in a long time."
Diesel and Octane began traveling together, a new found family. Over the next few years, Octane finds an online partner named Roe and a younger friend named Khadija, and the four become inseparable.
The four eventually pitched in money (though almost all of it was Diesel and Roe's) to buy a small house, and still occasionally use it to house other unhomed LGBT folk until they can get back on their feet. But Diesel, Octane, Roe, and Khadija's living arrangement seems to be permanent, and Diesel has since become a guardian figure to the four as they try to survive a world that wasn't made for them. Diesel still travels often for work, but is currently seeking a more stationary job that doesn't require a college degree but pays half as well as trucking, but this has proven exceptionally difficult.
Diesel is a schnauzer with a scruffy beard and eyebrows, a stocky build, floppy ears, and dye on the back of each paw depicting a sun and moon. Coarser body hair sticks through faer fur. Faer left eye is a natural blue while the right is a warm yellow-orange contact lens, matching the color of faer tattoos.
Fae has developed a love for goofy femme and androgynous fashion, most often wearing skirts, feminine tank tops and blouses, tacky button-up shirts, and artistic sky and weather themed makeup. Most often seen in light colors such as pinks, yellow, and warm tones with fruit or plant patterns.
♦ Obviously, "Diesel" is not the name fae was given at birth. Fae chose this name after beginning faer job as a trucker.
